Facebook Home Available
In a short review of the
HTC First, the first phone with
Home pre-installed, we gave
Home high marks for making
Android playful and helpful immerse us in
FB news feed items that we'd normally miss. However, we still have some reservations about privacy on the device and how much personal and location data will be shared with
Facebook. Now, if you went out and purchased the
HTC First because you thought you would be the first and only person to have
Facebook Home for a couple of weeks or months, but sorry to burst your bubble it not only released Chat Heads feature of same in its Messenger app for Android but they have also just released the same software entirely for some selected Android devices.

A skin of Android that can further transform your phone into a social hub is now available for downloading. But currently for some selected smartphones. You can download Facebook Home right from here at Google Play. The app aims to make FB the focal point of your phone by taking over your homescreen and providing you with a feed of your friends' posts, a means of chatting with friends and keeping your notifications in a central spot. Last week, FB showed off the software for the first time. It allows you to see full-screen updates from friends on the your home screen, send messages, and more things that are key to its experience.
Facebook Home is Available for the following Smartphones
- HTC One X
- HTC One X+
- Samsung Galaxy S III
- Samsung Galaxy Note II
- HTC First
- HTC One (not yet available)
- Samsung Galaxy S4 (not yet available)
The software will eventually be available for the blockbuster HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S IV phones. Additionally, the HTC First became available from AT&T today for $100 with a two-year contract. Other Android users need to be patient until it is available for their device of choice. If you absolutely insist on having some kind of a
Facebook Home experience on your
Android device, then you could always download FB Messenger as it was updated today to include Chat Heads feature of the same. We
guess that'll do for now, but we're hoping FB doesn't take its sweet time supporting more devices.
