Time Magazine Released List of 100 Most Influential People

The Time Magazine did a survey for the 100 most influential people in the world for the year 2013. It has released that list too. According to its survey, it categorized 1oo most influential people in different fields like

• Titans,
• Icons,
• Leaders,
• Artists and
• Pioneers.

  Indian Finance Minister P Chidambaram and actor Aamir Khan have been named by Time magazine among the 100 most influential people in the world in its annual list of global achievers that also includes teenaged Pakistani activist Malala Yousafzai and US President Barack Obama.

Aamir also features on one of the seven special edition covers of the 2013 Time 100 issue. Union minister of finance, P Chidambaram features under the Titans list alongside Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg and musician Jay Z. Actress Jennifer Lawrence, Steven Spielberg and Christina Aguilera also feature in this annual list. Others on the list are, Indian-origin Attorney General of California Kamala Harris, Indian human rights lawyer Vrinda Grover, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, Myanmar's pro-democracy icon Aung San Suu Kyi, US popstar Beyonce and Britain's Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton. Activist MalalaYousafzai, 15, is the youngest to have made it to the list.

The most striking part of this list is that only 7 people out of 100 have been chosen for different category or separate cover, not in those for which they should be chosen.

The actor (Aamir Khan) who won critical acclaim for his TV show 'Satyamev Jayate' last year, has been termed as a pioneer in the list. It has been done so for his social activism with TV show 'Satyamev Jayate'. Evidently, his brilliant social initiative outweighed his Bollywood profile. The actor was earlier featured on the cover of the TIME magazine's Asian edition in 2012 for the cover story "Khan Quest."

The covers of the magazine will vary, yet four different versions will be published in U.S.

While writing for Time Magazine, Chelsea Clinton, daughter of Hillary and former President Bill Clinton, wrote that the Taliban almost made Malala a martyr but they "succeeded in making her a symbol". This "indicates she accepts that unasked-for responsibility as a synonym for courage and a champion for girls everywhere. However Malala concludes her book, her story so far is only just beginning," Clinton wrote.
