Repair Your Hacked Website

How was my website hacked? The more common methods used to hack websites include: Hacked cPanel or FTP password If your password has been hacked, generally this will lead to your front page being "defaced" as the hackers will upload their own index page. If you use a software such as WordPress, ZenCart, or other programs, often time the hacks are done through an exploit in those programs. In many cases, if you use a CMS program the database will be hacked as well & will need to be restored. You must follow some tips to recover your old wordpress site. 1. Download the latest version of WordPress. Download wordpress & start uploading it in cpanel & extract all files here. 2. Delete all affected folders & files You extracted latest wordpress version,now you are able are able to delete anything but the affected files from your server. If you have hacked then dont worry your post & categories will safe. but if the database is also hacked then you should have back up daily. Here is the list of files you should not delete while deleting affected files DO NOT DELETEHacked/eminentyouth.com Folders that were there in the first place [e.g., stats] wp-content? folder .htaccess [permalink structure, permissions, passwords, etc.] If you have file name Google.html [Google Webmaster Tools verification] wp-config.php 3. After uploading wordpress delete this files: DELETE /wp-admin/install.php DELETE /readme.html ] 4. Refresh your wordpress home page If your site is showing default page .Dont panic.Follow the next step. 5. Refresh your site's home page again If your site still not opens & showing hacked homepage, then your database has been hacked.
